Okinawa occupies the southern half of Japan’s Ryukyu archipelago, which stretches between Kyushu and Taiwan. Consisting of 160 large and small islands, Okinawa is known for its tropical climate, broad beaches, coral reefs, and unique food and beverage culture. This month, we're celebrating the true spirit of Okinawa - Awamori - in our Prefecture Room. Awamori is considered to be Japan’s oldest distilled spirit and although the industry is small, it deserves attention as a distinct beverage that can pair with food from around the world. There are 48 distilleries producing Awamori in Okinawa today and we’ve carefully selected the best bottles for you to try throughout the month of October!
