On October 19th to 21st join us for a free public tasting of tsukudani from Takashima City in Shiga prefecture of Japan. These unique fish snacks come from Lake Biwa - Japan’s largest fresh water lake located in the heart of Honshu island. Due to its crystal clear and nutritious water, Lake Biwa is home to a great variety of fish including Biwa trout, small sweet fish, Japanese crucian carp, lake prawns, Seta clams and many others. After being caught these fish are immediately processed and simmered in sweet soy sauce and mirin to impart the unique flavor and texture tsukudani is famous for. Visit us on any of these days to discover these unique and flavorful snacks for yourself, as we pair them with some of our favorite sake!
Free public tasting of Takashima produce and sake will run from 3pm to 7pm on October 19th, 20th and 21st.
